Today, the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) released a Request for Information (RFI) on the state of mental illness research and NIMH's role in the development of this research. According to the RFI, this information is being solicited in preparation for the next NIMH director.
Stakeholders from the scientific research community and the general public who will represent the full diversity of perspectives on mental illness research are invited to comment.
Among the topics specifically listed by NIMH for comment are translational research, intervention research, services research, diversity and training of the workforce, advocacy and outreach efforts, and the Institute's intramural research efforts.
All responses must be submitted electronically by June 30, 2016.
